Blackque

Launched in August 2020, Blackque247 is the one-stop resource to find melanated creatives and professionals working across marketing, advertising, PR or entertainment. The Blackque Lists are filled with a premiere selection of curated info detailing a ‘select’ list of some of the best Black-owned businesses, seasoned professionals who are freelancers or consultants, and resources found in the U.S. and in cities the world. Blackque247 offers consumers the chance to connect and work with like-minded pros – in ways that authentically unite and elevate the culture, break down walls and create opportunities to build together.

My name is Kim Walters and having worked in the marketing and entertainment industries for over three decades working on televised awards shows and live events, consumer advertising, home entertainment, television, film and digital media strategies, I felt that 'now' was the time for a website like Blackque247. I realized that during my journey, I've acquired a wealth of resources and knowledge that others seek online but are not consistently able to find. So in the midst of the COVID-19 quarantine and peak of a long overdue political uprising, I created this hub because the need for positive change was at hand. While we are finally seeing a surge in the desire to hire more 'People of Color', I was not seeing any in-depth resource lists pointing out how or where to find 'us' - so I created one. Building this hub has been a long time coming as it's been something I've been wanting to do for many years. It's also been a true labor of love  - I did it for the current generation, the next generation, those who want to hire us, those who want to work 'with' us. I did it for the culture. One.
